Soy un artista gráfico residente en La Habana, Cuba. Una formación en historia del arte y diseño gráfico ha informado mi práctica artística tanto conceptual como técnicamente. Me interesan los procesos de recopilación y archivo de imágenes y como estos moldean nuestra memoria colectiva. Trabajo en entornos citadinos prestando especial atención a los procesos que conforman el paisaje urbano: desde la arquitectura hasta el vandalismo. Esto me ha llevado a producir una serie de obras en distintos soportes -serigrafía, grabado, fotografía y objetos- en respuesta al espacio público. He trabajado en La Habana, Roma y Heidelberg.

Dos veces galardonado con el Premio Roma de la Real Academia de España en Roma (2017 y 2019), gané el Premio Coral en el 40 Festival de Cine de La Habana al mejor cartel por Últimos días de una casa y fui artista residente en el Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales de La Habana con el proyecto X2. proyecto de obra (2010). Mi obra se expuso en la XIV Bienal de La Habana (2021), el VII Salón Cubano de Arte Contemporáneo (2007) y la Bid 20. Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño (Madrid, 2020).

Mis carteles han sido seleccionados en las Bienales de Cartel de Varsovia (2023), Lublin (2023), Trnava (2018), Gwangju (2021), Corea del Sur (2021 y 2023), Perú (2021) y Bolivia (2020) y forman parte de las colecciones de las bibliotecas Margaret Herrick y UCLA; el Center for the Studies of Political Graphics (CSPG), el Center for Cuban Studies de Nueva York, la Cinemateca de Cuba, el Centro Studi Cartel Cubano de Venecia; Pinakothek der Moderne y Fünf Kontinente Museum, Munich y el Museum für Gestaltung de Zúrich.Educación

Artist in Residence Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (2019-2020)

I am a graphic artist based in Havana, Cuba. A background in art history and graphic design has informed my artistic practice both conceptually and technically. I am interested in the processes of collecting and archiving images and how they shape our collective memory. I work in city environments paying special attention to the processes that shape the urban landscape: from architecture to vandalism. This has led me to produce a series of works in different media -serigraphy, engraving, photography and objects- in response to public space. I have worked in Havana, Rome and Heidelberg.

Twice awarded the Rome Prize by the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (2017 and 2019), I won the Coral Award at the 40th Havana Film Festival for best poster for Últimos días de una casa and was artist-in-residence at the Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales in Havana with the project X2. proyecto de obra (2010). My work was exhibited at the XIV Havana Biennial (2021), the VII Salón Cubano de Arte Contemporáneo (2007) and the Bid 20. Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño (Madrid, 2020).
